Why is it that we Gilgit Baltistanies don’t take any notice whatsoever about a certain thing or event unless it concerns us? People are killed in our Gilgit city nearly everyday, but does it make any difference to us?
We read newspapers, watch TV channels everyday, that open fire continues in Gilgit which killed and injured a certain number of people. For us, these people are just numbers, Gilgities, Shias, Sunies or Ismailies. The people who get killed everyday are someone’s son, daughter, brother, sister, father, mother. Be honest, when was the last time you said a dua for those victims? Now I am not saying I’m perfect, sometimes I don’t take notice either.
The question I ask is that why don’t we take notice? Why have we become so self centered that it makes no difference to us if thirty people died in Gilgit, eighteen in Chilass, fifteen in Ghizer, eight in Sakardu or ten in Hunza. We just carry on with our lives as normal as if nothing happened.
So, today I ask all of you, or whoever reads this that why is it that we as Gilgit Baltistanies, as a nation, as a country (Pakistani or any name you chose) never show unity? We always find ways to separate ourselves in one way or another, starting from religion, then go to districts level, going onto the language we speak.

the point that u are getting as y we are not united…. its very easy to b unit at single platform. but those lay man politician are culprits and centeral gov dont want to make this place peace loving and beside this ppl here are not as forsightnesss in them. if then it ma b…………..

If people had so much love for unity why would have pakistan to be carved out from india , why boundary was drawn between villages .
Millions uprooted . So the cycle of violence will continue .
First it was hindus who were killed , now its shiahs , ismailis , and what not .
A country created on hatred , will breed and create more hatred only
So its no surprise if there is ethnic violence , still in Gilgit( Occupied kashmir ) or rest of pakistan .
Hence my friend only solution merge with INDIA

No duobt there iz no unity in GB students and people just bczzzz of bigotry…. people dnt think that we all from Gilgit baltistan they think that we r ‘Shia’ Sunni’ or Ismaili… All r include in such kind of problems..

Hi Readers,
I hope those who will read my article would be at least those peoples who got a common sense because that’s why they are reading. ha. ha. ha Anyways I would like to ask a simple question to all is it allowed in any religion or manmade law to kill an innocent man, woman, kids or even to harm an animal except for slotering ? If I will collect the data for this simple question everyone would say no no no. But in real what’s happening in Gilgit/ Baltistan since 1988 between Sunni and Shia groups every one of us knows about it but no body want to know the facts because we are biased no matter Sunni or Shia but we all are biased. Though we are clamming that we are open minded, however when it comes to this topic every one wants to close the mouth. Why because I realised we want to continue like that we want to give this terror as a gift to our coming generations and they will pass into next ones.
The Shia and Sunni and other sectarian differences among Muslims are all man-made and they go against the creed of faith and the spirit of the divine message. The Quran does not promote them. In fact, pushes against people deviating from true Islam. Yet Muslim religious leaders are making little progress in overcoming them. In public they appear to be tolerant, but when it comes to purge their writing of the hatred and to abandon accusatory language in their talks, they seem to be ineffective. They have become virtual prisoners of their own history fearful of going against their predecessors, even though many may realize that they were wrong.
Lets be clear about the fist question is it allowed to kill some one for nothing just for being a Shia or Sunni? Simple answer is no however some religious leader might give explanations from here and their. The problem is not the religious leaders but us the public because the might be using us and others might using them. Now we could say ok this is the problem what is the solution? Perhaps every one of us might give many solutions but who will implement them? This is the most hard part to solve a problem. The implementation could be started from me not others then next step family then friends then community then whole area.
I got some suggestions shortly for the law enforcement officials and some for public and some for religious leaders if you are any one of the you could take it as a advice and start working on it and make an effort towards peace the we could really make some progress in technology and we could create a harmony in our lands.
It is not impossible to live shia and sunni together in one land with piece and harmony we got example from Islamic history that Hindu and Muslims being together for ages Muslims and Mushriks being together in a peaceful environment.
#Promote positive education in our school, colleges madrassas and universities
#Promote the values of acceptance for one another in local media, mosques, imambadas, and so on.
#Accept one another because of humanity first and then other things.
#Finally implement the punishments for those who are doing against these causes by police force.
I am pretty positive if everyone starts thinking like this we Gilgit/Baltistan would be the best place of world to be however, it takes time to get the job done. Lets start from the first step and move on we will feel better and catch those terrorists among us and tell them off.
Finally thanks for reading at least this is first step to read about the truth however, its better yah. Ha ha ha
