Over population does not depend only on the size or density of the population, but on the ratio of population to available sustainable resources.ita also depend on the way resources used and distributed through out the population. Over population can result from an increase in birth, decline in mortality (death) rate due to medical Advances, from an increase in immigration and from unsustainable able resources.
The statistics are sobering, according to piece in the Express Tribune:
- At 2.1 percent, Pakistan has the dubious honors of having south Asia’s highest population growth.
- On average, two people died and eight were born every minute in Pakistan in 2010, meaning the country population increased by six people every minute of the year of average.
- This translates in to a growth in the Pakistan: population of half million people in the last year. This would be added to the estimated population of 177.1 million as of July 2010.
The implication of these statistics is both tremendous and alarming. While power shortages, inflation and unemployment may be the current fault line upon which the country’s economy is stumbling.
According to my point of view a majore cause of population rise was the disparity in the division of resources between the elite and the poor. There fore this disparity need to be addressed.
At the last I request to government sector or responsible people should be a national campaign for effective population control would need to be urgently launched with active participation of the people particularly religious elite.
